When preparing and running a class, an Instructor can create their own dedicated environment, directly from the Instructor Console.
An Instructor can view their environment, connect to a VM in the class, and also share a selected VM with students for demonstrations.
When a class has more than one Instructor, each Instructor can view, connect to and share other Instructor environments as well.
All Instructor class environments are listed in the Instructor Environments panel:
Each Instructor can create their own environment for a class, unless this capability was disabled for them when they were added to the class.
An Instructor can also see whether other Instructors have created environments for the class.
An Instructor can simply click View to see their own environment as it would appear to a student in their CloudShare Viewer.
An Instructor can connect directly to one of their VMs by clicking on the Eye icon and then choosing the connection method:
The available connection methods will vary, depending on the selected VM type.
You can instantly broadcast a VM to the entire class or to a specific student, making it easy to demonstrate class components or operations in real time.
Only 1 Instructor can share their environment at a time during a class.
To share an environment:
Connect to the VM you want to broadcast, as described above.
After connection is successful, from the VM's dropdown menu, select Share with Students:
The Share dialog is displayed.
From the options, choose whether the VM will be broadcast to All Students or a Specific Student. (A dropdown list will be displayed listing all available students.) Then click Start Sharing.
When the broadcast starts, the student(s) you have selected will need to confirm the share in order to see the VM.
The shared VM will be opened in a new browser tab.
To stop sharing a VM with the class or a specific student, from the VM dropdown menu, select Stop Sharing Machine.
