Creating Alert Notifications
CloudShare Analytics supports real-time monitoring of account resources and activities, so that you can track an important goal or be notified of an unexpected change. Alerts can help you stay ahead of challenges.
Using an alert, you can take action if needed – for example contacting a customer, or increasing storage space.
An analytics alert notification is sent once daily to the CloudShare user who schedules it.
Three types of different real-time alerts are supported:
Threshold. An alert occurs when a specified threshold is reached. This is most useful when you are monitoring data that changes in a regular, cyclical schedule.
Automatic. An alert occurs whenever an anomaly is identified in the monitored data, based on a built-in machine learning algorithm. The algorithm actively learns from your data and eliminates noise, so that its accuracy increases over time.
Always. An alert occurs immediately following a recalculation of your data. It will not matter if there is a change in your data or not.
To create an alert:
Note
Currently alerts are available for selected widgets in the Resources Notifications and Training Dashboards.
Go to the desired Analytics Dashboard.
-
From the Widgets menu of the metric you want to be alerted about, click Add to Pulse.
The Add to Pulse dialog is displayed:
In the Name field, enter a unique name for the new alert.
-
In the Alert Condition area, select the condition that will trigger the alert. Choose from Threshold, Automatic or Always, as described above.
If you choose Threshold, enter the desired threshold value in the field that appears. Use the dropdown menu to left of the value field to select from various comparison options (e.g., 'Greater than', 'Smaller than', etc.).
-
Click Add to create the alert.
You will receive notification about an Alert Condition being triggered when your daily CloudShare Analytics notification is sent.
Tip
Notifications also can be sent to any visible account user who has a license to access the CloudShare Analytics package. For more information, contact your account manager or CloudShare support.
To see all of the alerts which have been created for the account:
