A CloudShare Channel is a dedicated set of resources and policies which can be made available to specific Teams, enabling them to access any Environments assigned to it.

A Channel is a CloudShare Project which has been created with very tight controls. This makes it easy and highly cost-effective to distribute a Channel (and all of its resources) to a broad range of business users, for example:

With access to your Channel, a business partner can easily access your solutions and promote them. They can create their own custom Environments to address the unique requirements of each of their prospects.

To assist you in managing Channel costs, CloudShare also provides a comprehensive Channel Spending Dashboard as part of its analytics and reporting package.

Restricted Control Features

The CloudShare Channel you create will transparently control key components of the Environments which are made available to partners, as well as manage resource usage limits.

Like a regular CloudShare Project, a Channel also supports the Project Manager role. However, this role has restricted permissions by default, as detailed below:

Although these role restrictions are assigned by default to all Channel Project Managers, a Channel Manager can change them at any time to suit the needs of the Channel.

Assigning Access

A Channel can be assigned to multiple Channel Managers.

Both Channel Managers and Channel Project Managers can create additional Channel Project Managers, as well as assign Team Managers and Team Members who will actively distribute the controlled Channel resources to their prospects.

Only an Account Manager can create a Channel.
