Open Your Environment in the Browser
Whether you need to transfer files to your VMs, install software, develop, test something or make any sort of change to your VMs and your environment, you'll need to know how to connect to your environment.
CloudShare offers several ways to connect to your environment. The most user-friendly way is to open the environment or specific VM in your browser. CloudShare displays your environment in CloudShare's Environment Viewer.
To open your environment or VM in your browser:
In the CloudShare Web UI, find the environment you want to modify. It could be your own environment, an end user environment that you manage, or an environment another CloudShare user shared with you. You can find your own environments on the dashboard as soon as you log in (My Environments) and you can find any environment you're allowed to access in the Environments List (Environments > Environment List).
Find the environment you want. You can use the Search Environments search box to search by name, and the filters to display the right selection.
-
Click the name of the environment.
The Environment Details page appears. Your VMs are listed in the VMs List in the lower part of the page.
-
You can connect directly to the environment in the Viewer by clicking the View button in the actions panel on the right side of the page.
-
Alternatively, to work on a specific VM, click the View VM button found with that VM.
CloudShare's Environment Viewer will open in your browser, displaying the tab of the selected VM for you.
Tip
Remember that selected VMs may be hidden from users by a Project Manager using Environment Viewer customization features.
