Cant type pipes or backslashes on Azerty keyboard
Hello, I'm having some issues with my Cloudshare VM:
My physicals keyboards are all azerty, and the cloudshares VM have a weird implemantation of the AZERTY where instead of calling a different locale for the keyboard layout, it keep the software keyboard in en_us (QWERTY) at an OS level and remap the key so that it respond to keystroke like an AZERTY keyboard.
So to be clear: Windows Language Settings will tell me that my keyboard is in QWERTY, but when I type in, my keyboard will act as an AZERTY due to keys being remaped.
Now, if I change the keyboard layout in the OS software (using keyload on Linux for exemple), the keyboard mapping that is forced on the VM still apply and I ends up with a weird keyboard layout that is neither qwerty or azerty.
Currently, in console mode, I'm unable to type \ (back slash) and | (pipes), which is higly inconvenient in a Linux environment.
The "send text" option doesn't work either for a number of different things (backslashes, pipes, arobase, etc...).
Saying that, I have a problem with my cloudfolders on a CentOS7 VM.
I can't access my cloudfolders via "cd /cloudfolders/" because the file look empty on the VM. (It was perfectly fine and then everything disappeared from listing on this specific VM. Show/Hide won't work, rebooting won't work, I can ping the address, I just can't see my files.)
So I decide to not give up and access my cloudfolders via lftp.
But the cloudfolders are named awkwardly: "user's Cloud Folder (Cxxxx)" which I can't cd to because of the ' and the spaces, unless using \ (backslash) which I can't, because of the awkward AZERTY implementation. I can't either grep my weird file name and pipe it into a file because pipe doesn't work either. And I can't use Tab autocomplete because there is TWO "user's smthing-smthing".
Any idea on how to get access to my cloudfolders ?
Any tips on typing in | and \ ?
Thank you,
Fabien.
