Agree with Kevin. I would also prefer to access my VM on Surface RT from the IE

Hi guys, yep - and we're getting that set up for you.  Should be ready soon.  In the meantime, have you tried Chrome on the Surface?

    Hey Scott,

    That's great news!

To my knowledge there is no version of Chrome that runs on Surface RT.  I know you can throw Chrome into "Windows 8 Mode" on a Win8 PC which makes it run like an app, but it's still an x86 desktop app (not an ARM metro app).  Even the Google search app for Surface RT appears to just use IE as it's browser.

Interesting - and I must be going crazy - I swear I saw a review not 2 days ago where Chrome was running on the Surface.  I could be wrong though - regardless - we've got it in the works!

    Hi Scott,

Has this been resolved? I'm still not able to access VMS in browser on Surface RT.

    Thanks,

    Janhavi

The status says "Done", but I can't get it working on my Surface RT.  Is there any documentation, or a link to use?

Still no RT solution that I've seen, and there's no Chrome on RT (ARM processors).  I've gotten it to work sort of by powering up the machine in the browser, then using RDP to connect to my CloudShare instance.

Hey Chris, when you try to connect - please make sure you are using the desktop version of IE rather than the 'Metro' version.  You will also need to run it as an administrator.

    Cheers.

I have run the desktop browser as administrator, and even added the URL to Trusted Sites to be safe. I'm told that I need to install a plugin, but IE never prompts for the install.

Again this is not an x86 processor... you have a plugin that works in desktop IE on RT/ARM?

Update: This still doesn't work on Windows RT 8.1, released recently.

Your note above about Chrome on Surface makes me wonder if there's not some confusion on the CloudShare side about Windows RT.  It's not the same as regular Windows.  Surface and Surface Pro do not run the same OS.

I will be upgrading to a Surface Pro soon so this will not be an issue for me much longer, but having this available on RT would be a good thing for RT users, in my opinion.

    Thanks as always.

Hi Chris, thanks for checking in - this got put on the backburners for a while so I'm checking with our QA guys to see if we can add full support.

    Cheers!
