Are SharePoint VM's shutdown in an orderly manner BEFORE taking a snapshot?

When creating a snapshot of a set of SharePoint 2010 VM's (AD, SQL, two WFE's), it's extremely important that the VM's be shutdown in an orderly manner:

1. WFE #2

1. WFE #1

2. SQL

3. AD

Does CloudShare's "Take a snapshot" do the above FIRST and THEN do the snapshot or (as I suspect and therefore am concerned about), does it try to take a "snapshot of a moving target" (which is useless since the content db is constantly changing due to SharePoint Timer Jobs that run almost every minute)?

  Hi Fred, great question.  

  When taking a Snapshot, they are live and you can continue working on your machines.  We do not shut down or reboot machines for the Snapshot process to complete.  We have some info on this in our blogs.
