You can have multiple instances within the same environment, however there are some templates which can only have one instance in an environment - for example an OS template which includes a pre-configured Domain Controller can only have one instance in an environment since you can only have one domain controller of the same domain. In such cases if you require an additional instance, you should add an instance of a clean OS templates, and you can install and configure additional applications and components.

Thanks.  In my case, I was trying to add two basic CentOS 6.3 Servers to the same environment.  The Add Machine button remains grayed out, and I can't determine why.  I am not bumping up against limitations of RAM, HHD or CPU.  Is there some reason that this would be a disallowed scenario?

    Hi Eric,

CentOS 6.3 Server has limited support with VMware thus we can only support one instance of CentOS 6.3 server in an environment. Alternatively you can use CentOS 5.8 or CentOS 6 or Ubunto which allows more than one instance in an environment.
