Windows Failover Clustering (Network)

I'm looking to do a fresh install of SQL 2012 evaluation on some VM's to look into database availability groups. This appears to require Windows Failover Clustering and thusly, network names with IP addresses. Is there any way to request IP's for this use or do we just pick one and hope no one collides it? :)

  Hi Jason, 

  Good question, but sadly I'm not too familiar with SQL 2012.  Once your environment is established, the internal IPs will remain static so you should not have any problems with those IPs getting duplicated.  

  Are you trying to link a SQL 2012 VM with a database external to CloudShare?

  Nope, just learning about database availability groups inside SQL 2012. It requires Windows clustering to operate and seems to be working fine, I just didn't want to collide anyone's IP's :)
